Without a committee, the pre-school would have to close (regardless of finances or pupil numbers) so it is vital that we attract new members each year.
If you are interested in joining the committee and would like to know more about what is involved, please speak to any member of our staff or the committee.
Being a committee member is a unique opportunity to get involved with your child’s learning and, although unpaid, is a valuable addition to your C.V.
Previous committee members are available to help ‘learn the ropes’ and there is comprehensive online help from the PSLA (Pre-school Learning Alliance) who can guide you every step of the way and are responsible for keeping us all up to date with any required changes in government policy.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is usually held in October each year, and is open to all parents of the children who attend the pre-school. At the AGM we look back over the previous year’s activities and shape the coming year’s plan in collaboration with parents and staff. We also use the AGM to elect new members onto the committee. But you don’t have to wait until the next AGM to get involved!
If you’d like to put your name down on the Parent Rota to lend a hand in session, please sign up in the Pre-School foyer or email business.sheringtonpreschool@yahoo.com .
Or how about volunteering at one of our Fundraising Events? Just leave your contact details with a member of staff, who will pass them on to the relevant member of the Committee.
